Second Amendment

Court hears Second Amendment debate in Chicago. March 2. 2010

Second Amendment, Bill of Rights, Clause 1
"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed"

There has been a 30 year old handgun ban in the city of Chicago and their has been a lot of controversy against this ban. Many people who are victims of burglary seem to rebel against the ban because they do not have a handgun to defend themselves with. Many people think this is going against the second amendment.

This article clearly demonstrates the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. This article demonstrates the second amendment because it shows that the second amendment is not being dishonored, but controlled. The people in Chicago may not be able to have handguns, but that does not stop them from bearing arms. The people of Chicago can still bear a weapon, but not a handgun since it can be concealed.

I think the handgun ban is right and is not unconstitutional because it allows concealed weapons to be rid of because people can easily hide them. This article is interesting because people it is not abiding the second amendment, but enhancing it in a better way for society.
